Between Sea and Space

I recently had the challenge of creating the largest oil painting I have tackled at over 12 feet! This uniquely shaped wooden panel incorporates gold leaf to offset the glow from the jellyfish. I wanted this piece to have both bold impact and quiet subtleties; to be realistic and dreamy. A group of jellyfish is referred to as a "bloom" something I had running through my mind while exploring this piece.
